The weekend approaching is always a busy one. This will see the entire club in action from under 5s through to seniors.
This Sunday is also extremely important to us in that it is ANZAC Day – a day that we commemorate, unite and remember those that served and those that gave up so much for us to enjoy the freedoms that we have today.
The Victorian Government has worked together with all sporting codes and the Returned & Services League (RSL) to allow the playing of sport on this ANZAC Day whilst not forgetting it’s significance. The Football Victoria (FV) memo is attached below:
Junior fixtures may go ahead before 1pm as scheduled with some changes on the day to allow incorporation of some commemorative activities.
- all money collected on the day from the provided coffee cart at Macleay Park will be donated to the RSLs ANZAC Day Appeal. Please consider donating even if you don’t require the drink. If you would also like to make your own donation, www.anzacappeal.com.au
- the club will be invoiced by FV for an extra donation to the RSL
- we encourage all games to participate in a 1 minute silence prior to kickoff to show respect to all our service persons.
